Easter Fun

It is Easter! This is our first Easter in our own home as a family in four years! The boys and I spent last Easter with my sister and her family in California and the three Easters before that were spend in Hawaii. Though only one of those times in Hawaii was planned. So we were excited to be having Easter together this year in our own home! There was a great egg hunt in our backyard with 45 eggs (mostly plastic). The big boys each got to find 15 eggs. Then we had a yummy breakfast of cinnamon roll pancakes. Baron also planned a yummy dinner of ham, cheese potatoes, and green beans. The boys loved their Easter baskets with candy and a special toy. Andrew got a Lego Atlantis set, Joshua got the Tron Legacy movie on Blu-ray, Noah got a Thomas the Train board game, and Seth a cute toy. The three big boys also got chocolate rabbits and some other candies. We went to church in the morning and then just enjoyed some nice family time at home. Happy Easter to all!

Coloring Easter Eggs

Here we go. Lets color some eggs. Since only half our family likes hard cooked eggs we only colored 12 eggs. The boys we still excited even though we only got a few eggs to color. I made a mistake and only used water with the dye tablets to color the eggs so they came out very very light. Oh well next year I will use vinegar. I have to add we colored eggs last year with my sister and her girls, but before that it had been over 3 years since we did eggs since we were traveling on Easter the previous 3 years! We had fun and that is what counts!

Pine Wood Derby Day

It is Pinewood Derby day! Andrew and Joshua have been super excited about going to this event. They both had a good time, but unfortunately they did not win. Joshua did win one race so moved up to the next level but then lost. Oh well better luck next year. They both got a award for the design of their cars. Andrew got award the "Most Original" and Joshua got "Most Creative".

Pine Wood Derby Prep

Andrew and Joshua are preparing for their first Cub Scouts Pinewood Derby race. They got their blocks of wood and we found the patterns for cutting them. The cub scouts met a one of the members house to get them cut. Then it was time to paint. Since Noah wanted to be in on the action we got him a wooden "N" to paint. We got some of Dad's old t shirts for smocks. All the boys really had fun painting and coming up with a design. Joshua end up painting tiger strips and Andrew did flames on the sides.

T-Ball for Joshua

We have started T-Ball season for Joshua. He is super excited to be playing ball. He really loves to be outside and loves baseball. Since this is t-ball the kids age range is from 4 to 6. Than makes Joshua one of the older kids on the team. No matter what position Joshua is playing on the field he runs to get the ball wherever it goes! The rest of the team still isn't sure about what to do when the ball comes to them. So if you can picture it everyone in the field is just standing in their positions when the ball gets hit except Joshua who is running from across the field to get it!! He is a great hitter too. The play two innings with the T and one with the coach pitching 6 balls and then the T comes back out. Joshua can usually hit from the coach pitching it. He has all ready hit a ball off the T to the outfield fence! Home Run for Joshua. I can't wait to see what the season brings for Joshua. Here he is looking good in his uniform
Playing third base, but ready to run for the ball anywhere!
A hit and he is ready to run
Swing batter, Swing
Waiting for the pitch

swings and the beach

At the end of spring break week we had some nice weather at home. We finally put up our little kid swing and let Seth try it out. He really enjoyed it and loved watching the boys outside. One of the things we did during our break was go to Toys R Us to spend some money the boys had saved up. Noah bought a big sand toy while there. So since he got this new toy he bugged me to take him to the beach to use it. So I took Andrew, Noah, and Seth to the beach while Joshua and Baron were at t-ball practice. It was a pretty nice afternoon and we pretty much had the beach to ourselves.

OMSI and Kids Club

This weekend we headed down to Vancouver, WA to visit my Aunt and Uncle again. We love that they live so close by. We also met up with some of Baron's cousin's who live outside of Portland for dinner. We had a great time at the dinner and the kids all loved playing together!
So one of our favorite things to do is go to OMSI in Portland. Since we are members we got tickets to the Omnimax movie for one of our visit included. We used them on this visit to see "Mysteries of Egypt". They also had a new exhibit called "Lost in Egypt". Since my Aunt and Uncle plan to travel to Egypt soon this worked out great for them. We all enjoyed these two things a lot. We even got to see a real mummy! Before we left we hit the "ball room" at OMSI that the boys just love.

Since the big boys were on spring break we (the boys and I, Baron returned home for work) stayed at my Aunt and Uncle's for a few more days. One of the things we did was go check out a place called Kids Club for Fun and Fitness. This place has it all. For drop in you can use the huge jungle gym area with lots of slides, a rock wall and a big ball room. They also have a indoor swimming pool, and lots of classes including Gymnastics, Martial Arts, and Yoga. The boys loved it. They even had a small area just for the under 3 crowd. Since Seth really isn't moving yet he did not do a lot. Though we took him in the play area and Uncle Ted took him on the slide. Noah loved the ball room the best. Andrew and Joshua were all over the place. We really had a good time here and will have to come back again!
