Haircuts

Andrew has been against getting a haircut for a while now but he also doesn't like to keep his hair combed.  Finally after many discussions with him he decided it would be better to have short hair with no combing involved.   So here is a before and after shot of his haircut.  He let his hair grow out for almost a year!  He loves the ease of his new short hair.

About a month ago Daddy gave Seth a little trim on the back and sides of Seth's hair.  Since we were taking Andrew for a cut we thought Seth could use one too.  This was his first cut by a professional.   He was very good and sat quietly while she gave him a good trim.  I love that he had his binky the whole time.  He did sit on Daddy's lap for the cut too.   He looks like such a little boy now rather than a baby!  

A week of snow continued

Finally enough snow on the ground to do some sledding.  This was the first time we used the sled I bought at the end of the season last year.  We used it on the grass area in the front yard and then moved down to the hill in our neighbor's front yard.  On the forth day of snow we got a lot of it so we could then sled down the driveway.  There were some other good spots in our neighborhood that we tried out.  We also started trying to find other things we could use as sleds.  We used slick cardboard, a laundry basket, and a toy bucket( very large).  One of our neighbor's used some inflatable boats and those worked great.   Each day we bundled up about 3 times to head out for sledding.  We really enjoyed our time with snow.  By the end of the week it had warmed up and the rain started coming down.  It was super fun while it lasted!

A week of Snow

The beginning of a week of snow days.  The boys have been waiting for the first snow since it had turned cold here.  Finally it came and came and kept on coming.  We ended up with a whole week off of school and plenty of neighborhood sledding.  Baron even got to be home most of the week too.

Cake Pops

One of the gifts I received was a Cake Pop maker.  I have used it a few times all ready.  My first try was making vanilla cake pops.  I followed the recipe but the pops did not come out very round and a little too brown in the middle section.  I must admit they were still super yummy.   Next I tried the donut hole recipe and they came out nice and round.  We rolled them in powdered sugar and they were soooo yummy.  Next was red velvet cake.  Those also came out nice and round.  I dipped them in chocolate to make them even more tasty.  I still need to practice getting them to stick on the stick.  The dipping in the melted chocolate was a bit tricky too.  Oh well they all tasted good.

Legos

Since the boys have gotten into Legos I found out where the closest Lego store was and planned a little visit.   The boys were super excited to go.  Thank goodness the expected storm held off until after we went.  The boys loved the store and really enjoyed selecting their Legos.  We also went to The Container Store and found neat Lego containers to hold all their new Legos.   Once we got home they have been building like crazy.  Love seeing the things they have created.
