Student of the Week for Joshua

Joshua has struggled with reading at school.  He has worked very hard this year with extra work at school and home.  There is a program at school which the kids can take a test on a book that they have read.   The get points for these test.  Each time period has a goal score.   We challenged Joshua to reach 100% this time around.  One of the rewards of reaching 100% was that his teacher picked him for student of the week.   He received his certificate plus a coupon for a free meal at a local restaurant.   We are so proud of him!

Baron's work Christmas party

Baron's work held a wonderful Christmas party for all the families in the unit.   They had lots of fun activities to do such as bouncy houses, rock climbing wall, paint ball, face painting, crafts,  and video games.  They had a great static display of helicopters.   There was tons of food options such as popcorn, cotton candy, fresh donut holes, coffees and a lovely buffet meal.  Then Santa flew in from the North Pole in a helicopter.  Santa visited with all the kids and gave they all a present.   We had a fabulous time.1`

Mission San Luis Rey

In California when you are in the fourth grade you are assigned to do a report on one of the 21 California Missions.   This falls on Andrew this year.   We choose a mission we have driven by many times on our way to the beach in Oceanside.   It is the Mission San Luis Rey.   Andrew has chosen to do a scrapbook type of report.   He needed to take lots of pictures of our visit and then make it into a scrapbook.   We did a digital scrapbook.  We all really enjoyed the visit to the mission.  Here are some of the photos that Andrew took of our visit.
